From Imagine to Kæthiar
Kæthiar did not begin with an album. It began with a song somebody else wrote, and with a person who could never quite put down what it asked for.
John Lennon’s Imagine was a lifelong influence on A. Fontoura, a songwriter who also writes novels. Not as a favorite record, but as a question he never stopped finding reasonable: if we built the walls that divide us, we can take them apart brick by brick, bind those same bricks with harmony and unity, and use them to build a better world.
In the 1980s he sent Christmas cards to friends and family in Brazil with a Portuguese translation of the lyrics inside. It was more than a favorite song. He wanted the people close to him to encounter its message for themselves.
The ideal stayed with him for decades without a form to live in.
It found one in the work with Kaethia_. She holds the same ideals, and through her voice, her identity and what she brought to the writing, an aspiration carried privately for a very long time became something you can hear: a world with a name, with images, with music, and with a philosophy of its own.
That world is Kæthiar, and it is at the center of One World, One Song.
It imagines peace not as sameness, but as harmony: a world where freedom, joy, belonging and difference can exist without becoming reasons for division.
Imagine was one of the seeds. Kæthiar is what grew from it.
Kæthiar is not an answer to Imagine, and not an improvement on it. A seed is not improved by the tree. It becomes something new, grown in a different century by creators who were still listening.
